Single Source has a subsystem called a “traffic controller.”  The traffic controller will address all non-New Core applications as well as time sensitive New Core components.  The traffic controller will send and receive information from the ATM Switch.  Single Source can communicate with a switch via TCP/IP, HTML, Web Services, or any other modern communication protocol.  Single Source is a real time system however, if the switch cannot accommodate real time then the traffic controller will send the information to the switch at the switch’s earliest availability.
